Fittleworth is a Home Delivery Service company with Care Centres across the U.K. In Scotland we are based in Glasgow and Edinburgh. As a company, our philosophy is to offer a personal, reliable and discreet service to all our customers. We are very proud of our delivery drivers who are totally committed to meeting your needs.

Our vehicles are unbranded as are our parcels, intentionally kept anonymous as we feel this is important to you, should we need to leave your parcel outside your house or with a neighbour.

Unlike a courier company, our delivery service is built on getting to know our clients, our drivers know their delivery areas and customers well. Over the months and years, they have established a strong rapport and relationship with their clients. And for your peace of mind and security purposes, we make sure all our drivers are Advanced CRB checked, which is updated on a regular basis. Our drivers also carry proof of identity with them at all times which is an easily recognisable Fittleworth branded photographic badge.

Fittleworth’s Scottish History

Fittleworth opened the Care Centre in Glasgow in 2003 with one customer service advisor and one company nurse. All orders for medical appliances were completed and shipped up from our Care Centre in Barnsley, South Yorkshire to our Scottish customers. In 2004 the Glasgow Care Centre started to grow, we employed an additional Customer Service Advisor and also Warehouse Operatives so that the orders for medical appliances could be completed and shipped out directly from the Care Centre in Glasgow.

Over the years the Glasgow Care Centre continued to grow and by 2009 the Customer Service Team had increased to three full time advisors and the Warehouse had five full time operatives, plus two part time operatives. We also had 2 field sales representatives covering Scotland and were dispensing thousands of orders per month. Glasgow was the first of our Care Centres to start the ‘sampling’ service, in turn this was implemented throughout England and has proved to be very successful. Business has continued to grow over the years in both stoma care and continence. Our Glasgow Care Centre currently manages the Scottish database of around 5000 clients and dispenses up to 3300 orders per month. The Edinburgh Care Centre opened from February 2012 and has allowed us to offer a more local service to more of our Scottish customers.

The Glasgow Stoma Support Group hold a ‘Stoma Support Group’ meeting on the first Tuesday of each month.   This is held in the meeting room within our Glasgow Care Centre building. It is a very relaxed, friendly environment and if you would like to join us, please just pop in or call our Glasgow number for more details.

Prescription Before Order:

Please note that all Delivery Services as from July 2011 were asked to change their system after a Consultation was issued by the Scottish Executive to receive the prescriptions before we deliver your appliances.

This will not make any difference to what or how you order, just that you will receive your medical appliances approximately 10 days after you have placed your order so it gives your GP time to post the prescription to us and then we can arrange delivery. For all of our customers that live in Edinburgh please post your prescriptions to our Edinburgh Care Centre, all customers from elsewhere in Scotland to carry on posting their prescriptions to our Glasgow Care Centre unless your GP sends them directly and we will write to them.

1. We will call you at least 10 days before your usual time of ordering to see when you require your next order
2. Once you have placed your order, we will give you an estimated delivery date
3. Please send your prescription to the relevant Care Centre or we will write to your GP and request your prescription
